Kirinyaga County has of the late been trending for all the wrong reasons.

Residents of Ngurubani in Kirinyaga County are in shock after a 46-year-old man killed his lover in what is suspected to be a love triangle.
Astonishingly,Maina called residents and told them that he had locked her love in the house dead and then went on the run.
It is said that Maina, a local trader is married and that he had an affair with the slain woman, who trades within Ngurubani.
Confirming the incident, Mwea East Sub-county police commander Anthony Mbogo said Simon Maina strangled Jackline Irungu to death in a rental house.
He added that Maina was arrested in Ngurubani town at around 10 p.m. and is currently being held at Wanguru police station.
The deceased’s body had been taken to Mwea Mission Hospital in Karira as investigations continue.
